Love Has Come

The war is over, blindness gone
I’ve started a new way home
He gave me life in innocence
While showing me who to become

Love has come
Yes, Love has come
Oh how love has come
From empty and dead to saved and kept
Now that love has come

Every time I close my mind
You remind me I have nothing to lose
And when my fight gets weaker
You take my heavy blues

I’ve fallen down in every way
I’ve fallen down for you
In the quiet you flow
Around every deep soul
And your mystery is holding me close

I can’t look now, but when I do
I’ll know what I was missing before
And just when I think I’ve figured you out
You come along with more

Love has come
Yes, Love has come
Oh how love has come
From empty and gone to soul and song
Now that love has come.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

  1. Hey, thanks for the comment on my poem; I appreciate it! I'm afraid I'm not very qualified to give much advice, but one thing that helps me is using writing prompts. Also, by frequently reading other people's poetry that you like, you can learn to imitate some elements of their styles. You should check out http://paperchrysalis.blogspot.com/ It's a community of writers and there are sometimes writing prompts posted there.

PS I like your personification of Love in this poem
